AUX CASE STUDY FootieChick

Sports Retail sector

Alan Horridge is well-known as the entrepreneur who carried out an MBO on Americana, the Manchester based fashion wholesaler, after which he developed new high profile brands including Hooch and Bench. During his time there he took the business from £10m to £40m turnover. After Alan left Americana, he started to look for buyin opportunities that would provide him with a serious challenge and a part of his search was to contact Paul Griffiths as a well recognised source of MBI opportunities in the North West. “Paul was instrumental in introducing me to David and Heather Brint, the joint force behind Footie Chick” explained Alan. “My role is to help them drive this exciting business forward through developing Footie Chick, the brand for women who play, watch or dream about football”. Footie Chick is all about quality, performance and fun and the range of technical, professional clothing is complemented by the fashion and leisure items that are also in high demand” he continued. Paul Griffiths has known the owners of Footie Chick for many years and was glad to make the strategic introduction for them knowing Alan’s background would be highly relevant to their brand and development plans.
